Gym workouts are always on hand and unlike the weather; gyms provide a stable workout location all year round, but with spring upon us, it’s time to consider supplementing a gym session with outdoor workouts.
We’ve put together some handy outdoor workout ideas you can do on a whim.
There’s nothing better than jumping off a treadmill and getting outside for a jog. We have some fantastic running tracks around Australia, which means you can often enjoy some of our natural landscapes while you stretch your legs. Some of our favourites:
The Tan Track in Melbourne
Noosa National Park
Kings Park in Perth
Bondi to Bronte in Sydney

Bring your yoga outside and connect with nature on another level. One of the best parts about yoga is it can basically do it anywhere! Simply grab your mat and go anywhere you choose.
We highly recommend taking your yoga down to the beach or to a national park. Research indicates that getting outside can awaken all your senses including scent, sight, and touch meaning you will be able to connect with your practice on another level.
Once you’ve finished, take some time to reflect on how you feel after your practice.
If you need a yoga mat, take a look at our Yunmai Mats – they’ve been carefully designed to consider travel and to accommodate yoga on the go anywhere, anytime.
If you’re a classic gym junkie we’ve got something for you too! Did you know that there are outdoor gyms around Australia? With these spots, you can enjoy the best of both worlds – a gym workout in conjunction with fresh air and sunshine.
Here are some of the top spots in each state.
If you’re looking to see where the closest outdoor gym is to you it’s probably best to check with your local council.
Even if there’s no formal gym equipment around you can be a little spontaneous and think outside the square. For instance, a park bench can be used for push-ups, triceps dips or even as steps, but remember to be mindful of those around as it is a public space.
